THE LOVERS Reversed. This card is about obsessive relationships. Refusal to learn from relationships. What I see in the card today is: You have to let go. It is time to heal. You need to move on, but you are not ready to. I should say that you just don’t want to. For some reason you have this idea that if you keep trying you can get relationships to work, even after they are broken beyond repair. It is as if you associate the failure of a relationship as you being a failure. You keep trying to get back into a relationship long after it is over. You are always running the would have, could have, should have scenario in your mind about the way things could have been if only.
Once you are ready to move on to another relationship, you are not really. You just transfer the emotional baggage onto someone else, dooming any and all relationships before they even start. You are also attracted to the same type of person. This is not good for you. You need to find a way to change this cycle. You are not going to be able to change the past in your new relationship, but somehow you are trying to do just that. Get some help. Talk to someone. You deserve to be happy and the only way that is going to happen is if you deal with this problem. Otherwise you are just going to keep reliving it.
