It may not be a demotion but it feels like it. You are lucky you have a job. Deal with it, suck it up. You are not an equal here. You need to do what you are told to keep getting a pay check. Stop only doing a half A**ed job. If you want to get ahead, or even just stay where you are you have to put the effort into your work. No one is helping you here. You need to show you are worth keeping on as an employee.
