This is the only way to start living your own life, not the life others want you to live.

The Tarot Card of the day is: THE EMPEROR. This tarot card is about the struggle for personal independence. What I see in the tarot card today: You want independence, fine take it. Start being responsible for yourself and your actions first. Independence is not just about making decisions on your own. It is about living with the consequences. You want the freedom but you have to take what comes with it. I am not saying you should not work at becoming independent. I am just saying be realistic with your expectations. You have to earn your independence, not just take it.

What I see in the tarot card today is: Everyone keeps telling you what to do and how to do it. No one is giving you the chance to do anything on your own, or to even discover what you can do. It is all about what they think is best for you. What you want does not seem to even come in to the picture. You have not been able to develop, you have just learned how to follow others expectations. It is time to change that. Your freedom is close. You need to be prepared to take it. Make decisions on your own. Take actions that benefit you, not others. You have to start some time, today is as good as any other. Start reaching out for your independence, but be prepared to take responsibility for yourself and your actions. That is the price of independence.

THE EMPEROR. This card is about the struggle for personal independence. What I see in the card today is: You are pulling at the bit. You are tired of having to follow the rules set by someone else. You feel that you can handle the things that the rules are trying to keep you out of. You don’t want to be so restricted and feel as if you are not respected. It is time to try and get some independence but not as much as you think you want. You need to take this step by step a little bit at a time, showing that you can handle the independence and responsibility before taking on anymore.

What I see in the card today is: You want to do some things on your own, or at least do the things that you want to do not what you are being told you have to do. It is a time to put the effort into finding a way to let the people in your life know that you don’t always want to do what they want to do. Also that for a change you would like your options or wants to have value to them, and that you get to pick the activity for a change. That you get a chance to do what you want to do, not what everyone expects you to do. It will not be easy, but you have to start some time and now is a good time.

THE EMPEROR. This card is about the struggle for personal independence. What I see in the card today is: You have been under the control of someone else for along time and are trying to live your life free of the control but not the connection. It has to do with becoming an adult and living your own life, not what your parents think you should live. You are having conflict due to the fact that your one parent is so controlling, believes that they are always right and that the only way to do things is their way. He or She (though I am seeing a man) is unable to let go of that control and see you as an independent person with thoughts and feelings all their own. It is not that he does not value you, he just sees you as an extension or a representation of himself.

Today is one of those days when you have to stand up for yourself and your life. You may find that you need to put some distance between you and your parent to have the freedom you are looking for. You don’t have to do everything at once, just take one step at a time and take what independence you can. You may need to do this slowly to keep conflict to a minimum however it may be easer on you to just move out of range or control. Only you can figure out what is going to work best for you.

You would like to be able to make decisions for yourself. You are not a child anymore and don’t feel you should be treated as such by anyone. You are looking to be able to make decisions, take action and live with the consequences. You want to be able to earn your way, to reap the rewards, benefits and headaches of taking care of yourself, paying your own way. You want to be able to feel pride in what you do, and in your accomplishments. You want to be able to do things and pay for things with money you earned, not something that was given to you. You also don’t want to be dependent on someone else, to have to ask for money so you can do something. You want your pride back. To do so you need to start relying on yourself today.

THE EMPEROR. This card is about the struggle for personal independence. What I see in the card today is: You want to do what you want, when you want and to have the control to make your own decisions. This is hard to do, to not just go along with what everyone else wants. You need to feel that you are part of or accepted by a group but at the same time be an individual not dependent on that group for approval. This is a fine line to travel, to be independent and yet still part of a larger group. It takes great strength to break away from the expectations of others, especially those who have been dominant influences on our lives. You have that strength, now you just need to act on it, and deal with the consequences, struggles and triumphs that come with personal independence. It is not going to be easy but you can do it.
